I had initially thought of doing an extended Baiului - Neamțului tour by bike. Then, in order to make it more loop-like, I thought of adding in the Grohotiș. A day and a half’s ride, that sounded good. Only that, with the May 1 long weekend coming, that turned rather silly. So, returning to the Tătaru - Siriu came to mind. But what about the Ciucaș in between? As for the obvious parts not doable by bike (especially in the latter), that added to the entertainment package, as the tour operator lingo goes. This is how great experiences happen. All in all, a 2 day and a half camping, cycling and bike carrying trip enjoying fine - if not rather hot - weather, a vast part of these mountains just for myself - as it was too early for shepherds to go up - and the excellent dry Pleșcoi mutton sausages as company. The per diem route was like this:

Day 1: from Comarnic Station to near Sloeru Mărcușanu Peak along Baiului - Neamțului and a bit of Grohotiș ridges, cumulating a 2630 m. ascent and 49,60 km. long.

Day 2: from the Sloeru Mărcușanu along Grohotiș and Ciucaș ridges, then into the Tătaru, camping between the Tabla Buții and the Tătarul Mare. A day cumulating a 2207 m. ascent and with a 44,10 km. long ride.

Day 3: from the camping spot above along the Tătaru and then Siriu Mountains ridge, then down to Siriu Village and farther to the train station in Nehoiașu. Half a day ride cumulating a 846 m. ascent and 37,60 km. long.

Tracks for this ride are available on my GPS track page or, one by one here: day 1, day 2 and day 3.
