A major road and railway line (the busiest transit route entering the country from Hungary) pass by the Poiana Ruscă. Yet most people go on without even noticing these ‘hills’. However, these mountains feature long, winding ridges, two picturesque, almost twin peaks in their higher area, and they also host the very interesting communities of the Pădureni people, set far from the main communication and transport routes. And then, there are also plenty of trails and extensive, say it again, extensive forests, which make the Poiana Ruscă well worth looking into. Especially for the cross-country cyclist, I would add. For cycling / trekking tracks in these mountains and not only, refer to my GPS track page.
