Even to someone going to remote and untrodden wooden mountain ranges quite often that dense, jungle-like forest on the crest East of the Culmea Secului creates quite a strong impression. Take remoteness. Multiply it by 10. Take lush vegetation. Do the same. Take your challenge sense. See what you can make of it. Because, you see, past the first initially well marked and relatively well trodden trail starting in Neteda Pass and going Eastwards, once you cross the Secului there is nothing but forest to dive into all the way to the first higher rises of the Țibleș if you want to stick to the crest. But until you get there, welcome to the Lăpuș! For an easier going, refer to my track and use the old forest trails avoiding the bad sections of the crest and peaks.
