Overshaded by the Bihor with their appealing karst formations, the Codru Moma are low (culminating on Pleșu Peak at 1112 m.a.s.l.), mostly wooden and, except for a few short trails around Moneasa Resort, rarely trodden by anyone but forest rangers and the odd competition. Other than that, they feature a very interesting SE-NW ridge (orientation skills required) and their woods make it for excellent colour vistas in autumn, had it not been for those 2 m. tall thorny bushes. For that particular reason, you might consider spring as a better season to venture in. Find a suggestion of a route along the above-mentioned ridge on my GPS track page.
