For many these mountains look purely like an extension of the higher Godeanu. For others they are exclusively about the caves, falls and gorges up the Cerna Valley from the ruined Herculane Spa. Actually they are all these and much more: low in elevation, but extremely diverse in limestone formations, featuring fine ridges, interesting cottages and, last but not least, that curious Mediterranean climate. For ideas of cycling and trekking routes in these mountains and not only, refer to my GPS track page.
